The Similan Islands
 The
Similans, a group of nine islands, around 55 miles (130 kilometres) north-west of Phuket, have a reputation for world class diving and excellent fishing. A marine national park, the Similan and nearby Surin Islands are home to almost every species of game fish that inhabits blue water.
Plenty of challenges here. Wahoo, Sailfish, Dogtooth Tuna Wahoo and Giant Trevally will provide the action around the islands, while around a seamount known as Thonmai; look out for Black Marlin and Yellow fin Tuna on a good tide. A 3 mile fishing non-fishing zone imposed by the Thai government to protect the coral reefs allows both fisherman and divers to enjoy the incredible marine life in these waters.
