The 1,000 Metre Drop Off
 The 1,000 drop off – a sudden deep shelf that plunges into the depths, 25 miles (55 kilometres) north-west of Phuket, provides a home for the elusive Blue and Blue Marlin as they pass from the Andaman Islands to Phuket.
An overnight trip from the Similan or the Surin islands, the area also has many seamounts which attract both bait fish and Big Yellowfin Tuna. Dogtooth Tuna were also appearing last season. The Drop Off can be included in a liveaboard trip to the Similans or Surin islands.
