Shark Point
Sharks,
sharks, sharks. Officially known as Hin Musang or 'Shark Rock,'
Shark Point appears at the surface as a tiny uninteresting
rock outcrop. but beneath lies a vast reef with an abundant
marine life.
Located 16 miles from Phuket and a Marine Sanctuary, its
a justifiably popular local dive site.
As well as the numerous docile Leopard Sharks that rest on
the sandy seafloor and give the site its name, are masses
of tropical fish, colorful soft corals and sea fans.

The reef can be broken into three main sections which can
take several days to explore. Currents can be brisk but they
tend run parallel to the reef sections and allow for an excellent
drift dive back to the dive boat.
All forms of commercial fishing, collecting of marine life,
are prohibited around this area. No anchors should be dropped
here as official mooring buoys have been installed. Suitable
for Day Trips (16 miles from Phuket).
